Amaterasu Dance Company
Amaterasu (ah-mah-te-rah-soo)
In Japan, the central Shinto deity. The Sun Goddess.
Amaterasu was started in August of 2011 by artistic director Sunny A. Stoltz.
Amaterasu is a contemporary dance company based in Los Angeles. All choreography for Amaterasu is emotionally driven. Each piece is unique from the others, keeping their shows interesting and engaging. The unique movement is innovative and the contemporary take on floor work is their personal signature.
Amaterasu's goal is to keep dance passion and not performance, to show emotion and allow the audience to feel through the dancers movement and expression.
